New Digital Tourist Guide “Vivam” Launches in Cancun to Boost Local Tourism

Cancun, Quintana Roo – A new digital tourist guide, “Vivam,” has been launched in Cancun, promising to bolster small local tourism businesses while highlighting the cultural richness of Quintana Roo. The application, whose name stands for “Viva México,” aims to provide foreign tourists with accurate and engaging information about the region’s archaeological and cultural sites, encouraging visits to the Mexican Caribbean and along the Mayan Train route.

The Vivam app offers virtual tours of Quintana Roo’s main tourist attractions, developed in collaboration with the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) to ensure precise and informative content. Notable sites included in the app are the Punta Sur sculpture museum in Isla Mujeres, the Ixchel sanctuary, Tulum, El Meco, El Rey, and Cobá, with plans to add more destinations in the future.

Joel Martínez, the manager of links and development management for the Vivam app, explained the app’s offerings: “We already have the Punta Sur sculpture museum in Isla Mujeres, the Ixchel sanctuary, Tulum, El Meco, El Rey, Cobá, and we are still in the process of incorporating more tours.”

The app is now available on both Android and iOS platforms, offering various payment plans for businesses wishing to advertise their services. The app’s director outlined the subscription options:

  1. Zero-Peso Subscription: Allows businesses to have a basic presence in the app’s site catalog, providing visibility without financial commitment.
  2. 500 Pesos per Year Plan: Enables businesses to edit content and upload promotional videos, offering more dynamic engagement with potential visitors.
  3. 1,000 Pesos per Year Plan: Provides an interactive experience, allowing businesses to communicate directly with app users through an internal chat feature, promoting discussion about attractions within the catalog.

The executives behind Vivam emphasized their commitment to supporting small tourism enterprises, aiming to serve as a promotional tool for businesses that may lack the resources of larger hotel chains or well-known theme parks like Xcaret.

“We don’t want to bleed the small tourism businesses in the area dry, but rather help them to make their products known and visible to the international tourists that Cancun and the entire Cancun-Riviera Maya corridor already attract,” stated a representative from the app’s management.

By leveraging technology and providing an inclusive platform for local tourism businesses, Vivam seeks to enhance the travel experience for tourists and foster economic growth for smaller enterprises within Quintana Roo’s vibrant tourism sector. The app’s launch marks a significant step towards sustainable and inclusive tourism development in the region.
