Free Movies and Concerts Lineup in Chapultepec Forest for June 2025

Chapultepec Forest turns into a cultural hub this June with a lineup of free outdoor movies, live music and art workshops. The city’s largest green space will host weekly film screenings curated by Quinta Colorada Film Club, weekend concerts at two scenic venues and hands-on watercolor sessions for visitors of all ages.

The film series highlights director Arturo Ripstein’s most admired works. Every Thursday at 5 PM, the Quinta Colorada Film Club will screen one film in the “Great Mexican Directors” program. On June 12 visitors can watch The Virgin of Lust, June 19 features The Place Without Limits and on June 26 the lineup concludes with The Castle of Purity. All screenings take place in an open-air setting near the lakeshore.

Live music fills the weekends at two classic Chapultepec locations – the Kiosco del Pueblo and the Rinconada de los Ahuehuetes. Concerts kick off at noon every Saturday and Sunday, blending local talent and diverse styles:

  • Hueso Peligroso brings its acoustic rock sound to the Rinconada on June 8, 15 and 21 at 12 PM.
  • Sirena del Bosque serenades the Kiosco del Pueblo on Sunday, June 15 at 12 PM.
  • On Saturday, June 28, Norma Lara headlines the Kiosco at 12 PM, while Ayahuasca Tales performs at the Rinconada at the same time.

Artists and hobbyists can join two free watercolor workshops mid-month. On Saturday, June 14 at 10:30 AM, the Terraza Lago Mayor (First Section) invites painters to try outdoor landscape techniques. On Sunday, June 15 at 11 AM the Explanada del Museo de Sitio hosts a botanical workshop focused on local flora.

All events run free of charge with no advance registration required. Attendees can arrive early to secure seating for the films or set up a spot with their own folding chairs or picnic blankets. Food and non-alcoholic drinks are available at nearby kiosks.

Chapultepec Forest’s June schedule offers City residents and visitors an ideal way to enjoy summer afternoons under the trees. From Oscar-nominated cinema to folk-inspired concerts and creative arts sessions, the program encourages community engagement in one of Mexico City’s most cherished parks.
